I know that giving away my age but I can not remember life without a microwave. My teenage daughter thinks that means that we have started the fire by rubbing sticks together!
The microwave is certainly lives easier, especially for families like mine, where both parents work outside the home. We want our meal times, to be easily and quickly, keeping healthy and convenient. Our microwave is a device to help us spend less time in the kitchen.
